It has been a long time since I added any new blog entries and I am truly sorry about that. Life has been really busy lately. I am taking Mass Communications and Public Speaking this term at Kaplan University. They are very indepth classes. 

In Mass Communications we are learning about so much! I found out that how movie projectors were made and what the first movie was about. I also found out the revolution of Newspapers. All are very interesting. I am loving this class very much and have learned so much about mass media.

Public Speaking is not my forte lol! I do not like video taping myself. As I am a writer I love to stay behind the scenes, but I can definately tell why we need this class. It helps you not only become a better speaker, but also to notice little details when you are listening to other speakers. I have learned about all the different ways speakers try to reach their audiences and I find it amazing. I catch myself analyzing commercials and politcal speeches now when I hear them. It is amazing what I am learning.

Next term I will be taking Technical Writing. I am really looking forward to that. If you have not read my earlier posts; I am working on my Bachelors Degree in Communications with and emphasis on Technical.  This degree will allow me to be an editor, ESL teacher, Grant Writer, and Technical writer. If you do not know what a technical writer does; it is very simple. You know those little manuals that come with the products you buy;  well technical writers write those and among other documents as well.

I will also be taking Medical Law and Bioethics. Now you may be asking yourself, what does that have to do with communications. It does and doesn’t lol. I am also working on a second degree. I am working on my Associates in Medical Transcriptioning. I feel this degree will also open a lot of doors for me. Medical Transcriptioning can be done at home and that is a plus for me, since my kids are still so young. I want to be home for them and able to always be available if they need me.

My little guy is now 4 years old and getting bigger everyday. He amazes me every day. He is now playing on the computer and can navigate to different game websites by himself. I do sit next to him though. I feel as a parent it is my responsibility to make sure he does not go on an adult website by accident.

My daughter will be nine in August. It is amazing how fast they grow-up. She will be going into the fourth grade! She has started her own website and has a book club on that website. If you have children that would like to go to a fun website they can visit hers by going to www.readwritefun.com .

My husband and I just celebrated our 10 year anniversary! It is amazing to reach that 10 year mark. We are still deeply in love and happy. He makes me sane so to speak and I am so greatful that he is a part of my life.   

Now for where I am at with the updates to SR Stories. I have compiled some publishers for children writers that I will be adding to the website by this weekend! That is a promise.  Why it is taking so long is because I want to make sure that all the information that I put on this site is accurate and up-to-date! I would like my follow writers to have the best opportunities of getting their work published. I am also compiling the agent list as well.

I will also be adding a few more pages to SR Stories. I want to add a page with the most misused words and a few grammar pages. I have been doing some spring cleaning of my house and doing a lot of freelance article writing. I am also trying to stay on top of my school work. My children are getting cabin fever and wanting to go to the park, now that it is getting warm.

I am going to be painting my livingroom, kitchen, and entry way this weekend. I also plan on working on my garden and lots of article writing as well. I am adding a lot to the website this weekend as well. I hope to see you here and do not forget to sign the guestbook! I am working on a novel for 17 year olds and older. I set that age due to the graphic nature that surrounds the book. I am also going through the process of going back to school. I am going to work on getting my Bachelor of Science in Communications and Technical Communications. I am applying to Kaplan University’s online program. It has been quite a few years since I graduated from high school. I always believe that we never stop learning and that we are never too old to go back to school.

Now back to my writing. I am done with the second book in the Elwood’s series. I will let you know of it’s release. I am working on another children series as well. Did I mention I love to write. Well, that is about it for this blog entry. I don’t want to give everything away at once.

My daughter is eight and I swear she is going on 16. She has taken to yelling and stomping to her room. All the while yelling “You don’t understand me!” Well, I guess what my mom used to say to me is true, we grow up way to fast. On a positive note my little guy that is three years old is now fully potty trained. I am excited! He gets to go to preschool next year. That will give him something to do with all of his energy. Also give his daddy and I a break. Which we really need.

I am still working on the theme issue along with gathering all the other information I would like on my site. I will also be fixing the Astore. Don’t fret I have a plan. It is just taking me a bit to get all the information together, so please be patient with me.

I hope that you are having beautiful spring days! It has been a while since I have written in this blog and I am really, really, really, sorry! My studies have taken over and I am happy to announce that I made the President’s list the first term at Kaplan and the Dean’s list the second term. I am half way through my third term and I am still holding an A average. I am also doing some freelance writing and I am almost done creating the lists for this website. So if you are waiting for the Author lists, Publisher lists, and editors list; they will be up really soon! Do not forget to donate for the family of four. As our economy is not doing so well and there are many families that are over looked for assistance. This family is one of them.
